Boonton Summer Camp 2020 Hereby Cancelled

Friday, June 12, 2020

It is with extreme disappointment that I must announce that Boonton Recreation Summer Camp is being canceled this summer.

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 youth summer camp guidelines that were finally issued this past Tuesday by the State of New Jersey prohibit us from operating in the way that our program is structured, both from a logistics and financial perspective. More importantly, they do not allow our campers to have a fun-filled and engaging summer camp experience. The release of these state guidelines, coupled with the action taken on Monday June 8, 2020 by the Board of Education denying the approval to use facilities at Boonton High School for our camp, made it impossible to operate the camp in a safe and healthy manner.

This decision was vetted thoroughly and was not an easy one to make, but ultimately had to be done to insure the health and safety for all involved.

I will be issuing full refunds to all registrants and will start that process immediately. Purchase orders will be sent out next week and refunds will be issued promptly.

As always, please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. I sincerely wish you all the best and hope you have a safe, healthy and happy summer. I look forward to beginning the planning of next year’s summer camp and assure you it will be our best one yet!

Respectfully,

Tracy Pryer

Director of Parks and Recreation
