Boonton Parks and Recreation sponsors a variety of regular activities and special programs throughout the year. The Recreation Committee is always interested in new ideas and feedback from the community. If you're interested in starting a new program or helping with established programs, please e-mail us at:

The recreation center is available for use by Town of Boonton non-profit groups as well as local civic organizations. Information on how to apply for use of the recreation center as well as the application is available here.

SUMMER CAMP 2010

Boonton Summer Camp 2010
Camp begins Tuesday June 22 and runs through Friday July 30
Camp is open to Town Of Boonton children ages 4 - 12
and is available in weekly sessions
You may register for morning only (9am - 12Noon)
Full day (9AM - 2PM)
Or Afternoon option in conjunction with the morning Enrichment Program
(12Noon - 2PM)

Summer Enrichment 2010
A summer alternative to camp
Summer Enrichment provides a more structured class environment than camp
Children choose their classes each week and programs are taught by certified teachers
Open to Boonton residents and non residents
children must have already completed Kindergarten to participate in Enrichment
The program is held Monday - Friday from 8:30AM - 12Noon.
Children may register for Enrichment in the morning and camp in the afternoon.

L.I.T. Program
Our Leaders In Training program is for Boonton teens currently in grades 7 & 8. Teens
participate in events and activities, are taught a variety of games and team-
building exercises, and will have an opportunity to develop leadership skills
while assisting group leaders throughout the camp. The L.I.T. program is
available on a weekly basis from 9AM - 2PM.

Cheer Clinic

Join us for a summer cheer clinic. Have fun with friends, play games and learn some high energy Boonton cheers.
Program will be held at the Boonton Rec Center, Monday August 2nd - Thursday August 5th, 6PM - 8PM

Rugby is Here!

Mountaineers Rugby for boys and girls ages 5 - 14
Join our new program - this is a coed, non-contact form of rugby using flags. Players build and utilize the skills of running, kicking, passing, and teamwork. Its a game for all shapes and sizes and is firmly focused on developing self - confidence and having fun.
The program is intended for children entering kindergarten through ninth grade.
June 14th - July 24th
Practice is on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30PM -8:00PM and games are on Saturday mornings.
*This is a low pressure environment where kids are excused to miss practices and games as family vacation schedules require.
Practices are held at the Mountain Lakes High School Football field, games will be played in surrounding towns.

Learn to Skate Program

Open to Morris county residents ages 3 - Adult
Classes are on-going. Please visit the website for class schedule.
The program is held at Mennen Arena and is sponsored by Morris County Park Commission

Boonton Parents of Exceptional Adults & Children

Boonton Parents of Exceptional Adults & Children (PEAC) arranges recreational programs for adults and children with life & learning disabilities. These Exceptional Kid programs are open to Boonton residents and members of surrounding communities through the NJ Recreational Opportunities for Individuals with Disabilities grant program. Boonton PEAC works with Boonton PTA to train peer mentors to assist school-aged participants in the programs. For more information about Boonton PEAC, please contact Parent Coordinator Sonja Chapman at 973-263-1577.
