A Great Place to Live and Work Covering a geographic area of 2.45 square
miles, the Town of Boonton is located in the northeastern Morris County, about
22 miles west of the George Washington Bridge and seven miles north of
Morristown on Rte. 287. It's an established community with an abundance of park
lands, historic homes and convenient access to all parts of the tri-state
metropolitan area.
Public transportation to New York City is available via express and local
commuter rail (NJ Transit), and by bus service (Lakeland Bus).
Boonton residents are primarily professionals, craftsmen and independent
business people. We have three mid-sized shopping centers, and various
art galleries and specialty shops that are located in and around the Main
Street Business District. Boonton Main
Street, Inc. runs their annual Farmer’s Market from June – November of each
year in the Upper Plane Street Parking lot, located directly off Main Street. Other events throughout the year includes
Boonton Day in September, the annual Boonton Fire Department’s Labor Day Parade
& Fair and the their Annual Christmas Parade in November. The town's business community includes
numerous major corporations, such as Fossil Farms (game & natural meats), Unigene
(pharmaceuticals), Dauphin (commercial furniture manufacturers), Marsen
(industrial manufacturers), and Packard (specialization in antique automotive
equipment).
Residential housing available in the town
includes single and multi-family homes, apartments, condos, townhouses and
restored homes representing the Colonial, Victorian and Contemporary Eras.
