The department administers and enforces the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code. The department consists of a licensed Construction Sub-Code Official, Plumbing, Electric and Fire Sub-Code Officials.

The Construction Office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

YOU MUST CALL the office secretary at 402-9410, ext. 630 to set up any inspection. MINIMUM 24-HOUR NOTICE REQUIRED. Your permit number is required for all inspection requests.

ELECTRICAL INSPECTIONS – Harold Endean Tuesday & Thursday between 1:30 pm and 5:00 pm

PLUMBING INSPECTIONS - Craig Smith Tuesday & Thursday between 1:30 pm and 5:00 pm

FIRE INSPECTIONS – Keith Lynch Tuesday & Thursday between 1:30 pm and 5:00 pm

Useful information to remember:

Applicants:

Your application will be DATED WHEN RECEIVED. This office has 20 working days to review your proposal at which time survey, plans, applications will be approved or denied. Any prior approvals needed by this office (Board of Health, Town Engineer, etc.) must be given to us before any permits can be issued. Your attention in the preparation of your application will have a direct bearing on how quickly the permit is issued. Missing information, signatures, etc., will delay the review. Omissions that you are notified of will stop the clock on the 20-day to issue rule.

THE CONSTRUCTION PERMIT WILL BE ISSUED ONCE PRIOR APPROVALS ARE RECEIVED AND THE FEES ARE PAID.

B. Foundation
C. Plumbing/Electric and Fire rough inspection
D. Framing and Fireplaces
E. Insulation
F. Final Electric, Plumbing and Fire
G. Final Building
H. Final Site Work (Grading, Driveways, Etc.)
