LEAF COLLECTION 2009

Dear Boonton Resident;

This year’s leaf pick up schedule will be similar to the last 3 years. The Town Code in Chapter 246 Article VI 246-32 E, states that leaves shall be placed in the streets no sooner than seven days prior to a scheduled or announced collection date and shall be placed no closer than 10 ft. to any storm drain.
Failure to follow the schedule will result in a warning letter and in some cases, a summons will be issued.
Listed, are the instructions to follow again this year: (1) Find your street on the enclosed schedule; and (2) put your leaves into the street on the weekends indicated. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL MONDAY to put your leaves into the streets because we cannot guarantee that we will be on any particular street on any particular day. We plan on making two (2) passes through town, weather permitting, so your street should appear twice on the schedule.
In case you miss your collection date or if you do not want to wait, you can bring your leaves to the Town’s Recycling Center. Throughout the leaf collection season, the center will be open to accept leaves; Monday – Friday 8am-11:45am and 12:45pm-3pm; Saturday 8am-2pm; Veteran’s Day & the Friday after Thanksgiving 9am-3pm.
If you have any questions, please contact the Department of Public Works at 973-402-9460. The schedule will be posted on our website, at www.Boonton.org.

Sincerely Yours,

Michael P. Petonak
Superintendent of Public Works
